Floats

Remember last year? The Garden Gnomes, the Marching Bands, the wonderful variety of floats, the great parade through the village? Well, we are asking you again to join the cavalcade, bringing all the skill and enthusiasm of previous years to make this Carnival procession of floats the best yet.

You need to have your Float plus people at the Old London Road, top roundabout, north of Ashington before 1pm as the judging will start then. People must already be on the Float before you leave for the start. Children must be supervised at all times.

We hope you will support this year’s Carnival and invite you to let us know that you will be taking part by the 1st July. We look forward to seeing you on the day.

Ashington Festival Committee cannot be responsible for any accident that might occur before or during the Carnival procession as our insurance does not cover this.

BECAUSE OF HEALTH AND SAFTY REASONS THE COMMITTEE HAVE DECIDED TO BAN ALL WATER PISTOLS AND WATER DEVICES AND ALSO NO MISSILES ARE TO BE THROWN FROM THE FLOATS INTO THE CROWDS.

ALSO BECAUSE OF HEALTH AND SAFTY REASONS THE POLICE HAVE ASKED THAT NO ALCOHOL SHOULD BE CONSUMED ON THE CARNIVAL FLOAT BEFORE AND DURING THE CARNIVAL PROCESSION.

PLEASE ASK YOUR DRIVERS TO KEEP UP WITH THE PROCESSION AS WE CANNOT HAVE GAPS IN THE CARNIVAL PROCESSION.                   THANK YOU.
